AN EVENING WITH SAM TORRANCE

Friday 4th March was a special and prestigious night in Haywards Heath Golf Club's history, as one of the sport's most illustrious names entered our clubhouse.

Sam joined members for dinner before taking centre stage to entertain the audience with stories from his extraordinary career in golf.

Just some of Sam's achievments include:

• - 706 events played on the European Tour- 2nd only to Miguel Angel Jimenez (712)
• - 2002 Winning European Ryder Cup Captain
• - 8 Time Ryder Cup Player, winning the trophy 4 times
• - Sank the winning putt at the 1985 Ryder Cup at the Belfry
• - 44 Professional Tour Wins
• - Former world number 13

Stories of this golfing greats career had us enthralled for close to two hours and the Scotsman even gave us an inisght in to life on Tour with the great Seve.
