My name is Patrcia Maxwell and it is my privilege to be Ladies' Captain of HHGC for 2025. 

Ladies' Section

Welcome to the ladies section information page. Our section comprises some 100 members including social and playing members.  It is a, group that loves golf and we would be pleased to introduce you to the game or, if you already play, to introduce you to our course..  We meet every Tuesday throughout the year and participate in both competitive and fun competitions. We have an open day on Saturday 5th April 2025. Please do come along to find out more about our club and the ladies section.

Lessons - Individual and Group

Our Professionals offer both group lessons and individual lessons throughout the year. Practice facilities include a putting green, driving range, chipping green and an excellent practice/teaching area. The club also has an Academy for people just taking up golf. Many of our ladies have come through the Academy and are now enjoying playing in all the competitions alongside other members. 

Club Competitions

Qualifying medals are held from March to October and Stableford competitions are played throughout the year.  Regular team competitions are organised including Betterball, Foursomes and Greensomes, as well as Texas Scrambles and other formats.  Ladies are also encouraged to play in mixed competitions, where there are lots of opportunities for participating both within the Club and against other clubs in the region. 

Other Competitions

The Ladies' Section is actively involved in all Sussex County Ladies Golf Association (SCLGA) competitions. We also play in friendly matches and organise exchange days with other clubs across the county. We enter teams in prestigious National events, such as the Daily Mail Foursomes, the England golf Australian Spoons competition , and the R & A Coronation Foursomes for which we hosted the regional final in 2024 and will do so again in 2025.

New Members

New members are always made very welcome and quickly integrate into the Club.

The Social Side

The Ladies' Section is proud of its active social programme, which brings the members together for a wide variety of activities: Ladies' Coffee Morning, Bridge, The Lady Captain's Bridge Drive, several dinners during the year and a full programme of events organised by the Entertainment Committee.
